Here’s my review of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, a multiplatform open-world action game developed by Ubisoft Montreal (with support from other studios) and published by Ubisoft, for GamePro. Last year’s entry, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, was one of my favorite games of 2010, but this marks a pretty notable departure in quality from the past two releases. The annual sequel cycle seems to have caught up with the series, and Revelations spotlights a flat single-player campaign that skimps on the story details and is also less polished than previous entries.

It’s still an entertaining package on the whole, but definitely a disappointing AC release. And while mine is one of the lower review scores out there as of this posting, appraisals on the whole are noticeably down from the last two games.
